Axon', flexible flat cables has widened its range of Flat Display Connections for flat panel displays. The company offers FDC100®, LVDS Flat Flexible Cables designed to connect HD displays to LVDS electrical signaling system. FFC LVDS are made with a 100-Ohm shielded flat flexible cable and connectors compatible with board-mount FI-R connectors.

Main principles of the unique Axon’ solution
  • FFC conductors used as connector contacts,
  • AXON’ FFC shield used as connector shield,
  • FFC conductors are in direct contact with the FI-R receptacle connector,
  • FFC shield is in direct contact with the ground contacts of the FI-R receptacle connector.

Construction
  • Made of a shielded flat flexible cable and an innovative connector designed by Axon',
  • Gold plating over nickel on the exposed ends to avoid tin whiskers,
    • standard : 0.05 µ Au over 0.3 µ Ni
    • Special : 0.2 µ Au over 0.8 µ Ni
  • 21, 31 ,41 and 51 way 0.50 mm pitch shielded flat cable,
  • Terminated with connectors compatible with FI-R connectors
  • One end can be for FI-R connector and the other prepared for ZIF connector or FH41 which is mounted onto a PCB.

Advantages
  • Fully intermatable with FI-R connectors
  • Improved EMI coverage thanks to the simple connection system. No need to have an extra metal link between the PCB connector and the cable shield.
  • Foldable for easy installation various configurations (45°/90°/180°)
  • Small size: low profile, narrow width design
  • High flexibility
